The team developing blockchain card game Orbi’s Breath has announced an NFT mint for it that will be taking place on Magic Eden on August 22nd at 4 PM UTC, bringing holders in-game utility once the web3 title goes live on Solana next week.

NFT Minting Details

This NFT comes with a 1999 total supply, but only 500 will be minted in what is referred to as Phase 1. Out of that 500 though, 80 is reserved for “friends and people who helped us in this journey,” so there will actually be 420 NFTs available for minting in this first phase, according to a Discord announcement. This phase will take place on the Magic Eden launchpad and will allow users to mint across a whitelist and public phase this Thursday, August 22nd. The mint price for whitelisted users is 0.75 $SOL, while the public price will be 0.9 $SOL per NFT.

Why is the supply getting distributed in phases? Well, according to the same Discord announcement from the game’s co-founder, the idea is to “have a good quality narrowed down community of gamers” that will reap the special benefits of holding and playing with these NFTs. This means that the NFTs from one phase to another will have different traits. Specifically, only Phase 1 NFTs will have mintable “special traits” but more on these differences will be explained when the 2nd Phase is closer to starting.

Whitelist spots for this phase have already been overallocated, so anyone whitelisted that doesn’t manage to mint the NFT in this phase will be given a special role for the next one. Details on how Phase 2 will work will be revealed in Singapore, where the developers will be attending the Solana Breakpoint event, scheduled to take place this year on September 20th and 21st.

NFT Utility

If you manage to mint this asset, you will receive a chest in your wallet. By heading to the game’s official website afterwards and connecting your wallet there, you will be able to open the chest and reveal the Hero you’ve received as well as its rarity.

This Hero is a playable card in the upcoming decentralized title that you will be able to use in battles and level it up along the way. To level up your Hero though, you will need to earn resources by winning matches. By having enough resources to level up your Hero, you are able to improve its own abilities as well as 5 attributes: Health, Attack, Shield, Speed, and Spirit.

Alongside being a playable asset, holding the NFT you mint from this phase will also come with the benefit of a 50% discount for level up fees. The official thread talking about the user experience from minting to gameplay doesn’t specifically state if these fees refer to network transaction fees, or the number of resources you need to level your Hero up.
